Guitar Lessons @ JK Musician's Workshop
Full time Musician, Touring Artist, Composer, Producer, Engineer, Guitarist, and Guitar Teacher.
Along with Jim's band DOFKA, he has played, toured and recorded with many International Acts. Recent credits include Digital Juice Media, Universal Records, Cleopatra Records, BMG Europe, Dwell Records, and Cruz Del Sur Music SRL(Italy). Along with composing and performing, Jim has always enjoyed teaching guitar. He began teaching in 1987 at the original CA House Of Music in downtown Wheeling, WV. He also taught at CA House Of Music in Saint Clairsville, Ohio and Washington Music Center in Washington, Pa. Jim currently teaches over 60 students per week at his studio, JK Musician's Workshop. Student ages range from 7 years old to 73 years old. Beginners, Intermediate to advanced.
One very unique part of lessons, Jim teaches in the studio control room at JK Studio and incorporates many studio techniques. Some guitarists find it grueling repeating drills, scale modes, rhythm exercises, and arpeggios. You will make great progress playing along with various drum grooves at various tempos, in the studio. Keep it fun and make it sound, "musical"? Learn reading, theory, rhythm, ear training, composition, and song performance. Together, we make it a goal to keep your playing fresh and stay motivated.
There are players that sound pretty good though they can't even tell you the names of their strings.
There are also players out there that know their music theory and still sound terrible! Why not have it all? Understand music theory, have good technique, sound great, and play what you want! Why hit a brick wall? Learn to play guitar in a way that is fun and rewarding. That's the goal!
